I am Irene Ferreira and I was born Guinea-Bissau. Due to the civil war in 1998 in my country I moved to Cape Verde at the age of 12, place where I have spent most of my life. I have a BSc in physical therapy and working experience in this area of more than 5 years in different countries: 4 years in Cape Verde, 1 year in Italy and 4 months here in Belgium.

In 2016, I moved to Rome, Italy. I completed a Master Degree in Neurorehabilitation at the University degli Studi di Roma 'La Sapienza'. I did an intensive internship at the Umberto I polyclinic.

I consider myself a very enthusiastic and curious person on physical therapy, always eager to expand my knowledge. I have also other passions like Pilates and Yoga. I discovered Pilates’ methodology in my last year of university during an internship in Brazil. After that, I have developed an extensive experience of 13 years in teaching Pilates in Cape Verde and Belgium.

Pilates can be applied on everybody’s lifestyle to improve people’s physical and mental condition. In 2014, I did a training in Classical Pilates on physiotherapeutic conduct in Brazil, and in 2020 I got a certificate in Stott Pilates in Brussels.

My first experience with Yoga was back in 2013, this ancient philosophy is beyond the physical of mankind. In 2019, I did a Hatha Yoga course in India and in 2023 I obtained a Vinyasa Yoga certification in Brussels.

I am currently finishing my Master Degree in Physical Therapy at the Université Catholique de Louvain La Neuve. In parallel, I continue teaching Yoga and Pilates.

I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. I also speak English, French and Italian.
